Beware. Most of the 5 star reviews for Momiji are probably fake. – If you are picking a good sushi restaurant based on citysearch user reviews, beware. This place was horrible and I won't recommend this place to anyone. These guys probably wrote their own reviews on citysearch. Read all the 5-star reviews and you will know - they don't sound like honest customer reviews.
Didn't SKIMP on the SHRIMP!!! – I hardly ever write reviews, but after tonight I had to. I just took my wife to Momiji for her birthday. I asked my wife where she would like to go out to eat and more then anywhere else she wanted to dine here, We have been there before and the service was friendly, prompt and professional as always. The chef was entertaining and skillful and the onion volcano is always a sight worth seeing. I had the steak and shrimp hibachi which was fantastic. Horrible Service, Just Okay Food! – I've visited this restaurant 4 times so far, and the service was always horrible everytime I went there. Today, I ordered a chicken udon, and had to wait for 20 mins during lunch time. Last time they had a lunch rush, so it was understandable except my server didn't check upon me until I left the restaurant. BUT, today was not even busy at all (there was less than 10 customers). 5 star food, 5 star service, very reasonable prices! – I was blown away by the quality of the food. I've been to a few other hibachi places like this, and they were nowhere near as good and about twice as expensive. The owner made some excellent suggestions about what to order. He recommended that we try the special, which was Tuna, and it was absolutely divine. Great restraunt for sushi rolls! – I had the pleasure of discovering Momiji Hibachi and Sushi less than a mile away from my house when I moved to Austin, Texas, and it turned out they had just opened! Everybody here is friendly and great to chat with while I'm waiting if I come at a slow time. They often offer water and soup on my to go orders so I don't have to stay hungry while I wait. Great Value and Pretty Good food – This place isn't meant to be Kenichi or Musashino. It's supposed to be inexpensive (which it is) and provides decent food. I think the rolls are reasonably priced and the lunch specials are a steal. If you want a good sushi meal, but not willing to fork out big bucks, this is a great place.
Good food, friendly service, good price – I planned on stopping by Momiji Wed. night after reading the first great six or so reviews, and when I read the ONLY bad review, I HAD to go to see what all the fuss was about. Below Average Food and No Service – I'm sorry but whoever wrote the other reviews raving about this place probably all work at the restaurant so don't believe them. Momiji: A Hidden Treasure – I highly recommend Momiji Hibachi & Sushi for a couple of reasons. The first is the service. The staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and the food choices. My wife and I were greeted warmly and in a very friendly manner. The cashier asked if it was our first time there.
