Authentic Italian Bakery – Being a Bostonian, and having a grandfather that owned a pastry shop in the North End when I was a child, I can honestly say that I have never, ever been disappointed with Modern Pastry! The cannoli's are wonderful, as well as all the other Italian pastries. Everything is fresh, and has not been sitting in the fridge for hours. Forgetaboutit! – Worst customer service in the City. Not worth the wait or the aggrevation. Do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Mike's.
tasty pastry... I have grown up in Boston and my family is a regular customer of Modern Pastry Shop. Their pastries are best around Hanover St, no, I think best in the whole Boston. I love its taste especially chocolaty ones. They were well baked and very soft. Staff is very polite and friendly. Try their pastries and you will never forget Modern Pastry Shop.
Best Cannoli I have had – After reviewing Mike's Pastry last week, it is time to judge Modern's Pastry and decide which one has the best cannoli. Mike's and Modern are right across the street from each other. Just like the rivalry between Philly Cheesesteak establishments, Gino's and Pat's, it is dead intense. One of the best pastry shops in the North End! Great pastry shop. Hard to decide what to get because everything is yummy! Also, coming from an Italian family, I can confirm that their pastries are the real thing!!!
