I used to like Modern but the price keeps rising and the quality/service is sadly going down. Not sure if they sanitize the foot spas after each pedicure and my toe polish all chipped after two days with dead skin left on my feet. My gel manicure was okay, subpar at best

I've gone to several places around Hoboken to get my nails done and I've become a regular at Modern Nails, mainly because of their flexibility and consistency. I get pretty basic gel nails and they've always done a good job. The manicurists are nice and diligent. They have good hours and aren't as strict about changing appointments as other places. I went in for a dip powder manicure and removal of UV gel nails. I was charged $70 ($20 for just the removal). The work was sloppy and overpriced. I keep giving this place a chance, because I live across the street, but it’s not worth it. Do not go here!

Will never come again. Money hungry location. Who just care about having people in and out. The ladies and the owner are very rude. Save yourself the headache of looking for parking in Hoboken for mediocre service and go somewhere good!!

I rarely leave reviews especially bad ones but this place was so incredibly rude. My appointment was at 9:30 am and they called me at 9:32 am asking where I was. I said I was finding parking and was around the corner and he said “hurry up” and hung up. Then I got there and turns out they misunderstood my appointment request. I did not want gel extensions just hard gel on my real nails. They said it was $90 for that when I know that’s overpriced it should be $60 for a solid color hard gel manicure (it isn’t even 90 in NYC). I... read more
