The one star is not for the company, because they are ok. However the automated screening process is lacking. A credit check algorithm can't replace the intuition of a 'mom and pop' style screening. We need more focus on character and community fit, not just data points on a spreadsheet.
I recently moved out and no long living in one of M&Ms buildings. I loved my unit and it was such a bitter sweet moment the day I moved out. I let Ed know as soon as possible that I would be moving out. The whole process was easy .. I moved out early January and Ed let me know that I would still have to pay rent for the month of February. Which I did agree upon signing my lease . But back in March of last year I had pretty severe damage to my ceiling in the dining room due to a leak from the roof . I can’t say enough positive things about MM and especially my property manager Mecca! Not only does she go above and beyond, she always makes me feel so at home whenever I call and anyone who answers the phone is so kind and courteous and always recommend to my friends! Oak park is a special place but wouldn’t be as special without MM Property Management
Tried sending me a bill for $600 dollars months after I moved out, claiming that it was from a non paid nicor bill (called nicor, they claimed it was false and the bill was theirs to pay from a completely different unit and situation) and threatened to send it to collections. I paid my unit early and never had a balance on my bills. Stay far away unless you want to be scammed by a management company. They'll try and foot you with a bill that had nothing to do with you.
As the President of my HOA, I work closely with Chris Thompson of M&M as he is our Property Manager in the condo management for our building. He is always very responsive and ensures that any issues are addressed in a timely fashion. I also appreciate his thorough communication. He is a pleasure to work with.
