It was okay, but nothing spectacular. I had the Lobster Bisque and the Crabcakes. The lobster bisque was quite good, and i would go back ONLY for that, even if it meant 2 bowls, one asban appetizer and another as my entrée. The crabcake was okay, nothing special... I would have preferred more lobster bisque. Not to mention that the remoulade sauce is made with Tabasco sauce and is really spicy, and overpowers the mediocre crabcake. Mitchell's Fish Market never disappoints! Excellent food at reasonable prices, professional and pleasant service and casual but upscale ambiance.
We had dinner at Mitchell's at 4 pm on Christmas Day. The portions were tiny. We had the sea bass/crab special at $34.95. There was maybe 2oz of sea bass and 1 small fragment of crab under the mountain of gravy. Our dinner salads @ $7.95 each were a 1/4 of the size from what we were served at previous visits. First time visit, came for lunch. Everything we had was superb and the service excellent. The char-grilled oysters are the best we have yet found outside of Drago's in New Orleans and we never thought seafood gumbo could taste so good. Definitely recommend giving it a try!
If I could give it zero stars I would. Who ever heard of Alaskan King Crab being served without butter to dip it in? Just to add the meal was luke warm. The waiter tried to "upsell" me on the quantity. I certainly will never return.
