This one thousand acre attraction located just west of Minneapolis is a gardener's paradise. It is also the perfect spot for anyone who simply wishes to visit a beautiful and peaceful place. The University of Minnesota, which owns the arboretum, conducts research here and offers a wide variety of educational programs. Several miles of walking paths weave through the gardens, with a lane along side for those who wish to drive.

We love the arboretum & have been often. However we found the Winter Light exhibit a bit confusing on the website. It mentioned wearing shoes for walking but never mentioned how handicapped accessible-or not-it is. It isn't.....One area was down an incredibly long hill & then up. Totally unattainable for older person or young with mild handicap. We had fun but borrowed a wheelchair for one of our party which thankfully the arboretum had. Or we would have had to leave. Update your website.
Always loved this place! Came here often growing up and an so excited that I'll get to share it with my daughter too!
I like the spring/summer/fall landscape but I went last night for the winter lights experience and found it to be WAY overpriced! Not much to see for $18
Second trip to Arb in 2 days! We would go every day if we had the time.
Very groovy, set your own pace, enjoy what you see and experience, leave when you want and come back again.
