This one thousand acre attraction located just west of Minneapolis is a gardener's paradise. It is also the perfect spot for anyone who simply wishes to visit a beautiful and peaceful place. The University of Minnesota, which owns the arboretum, conducts research here and offers a wide variety of educational programs. Several miles of walking paths weave through the gardens, with a lane along side for those who wish to drive.

I love coming here. Always a stop I plan for every time I travel to the twin cities. Wonderful that Master Gardeners can check it out for free!
There is always something new to see, and it’s beautiful, fun and educational!
what a rip off.... this event gouged people STILL for 15$ a person KNOWING half of what they had was puddles could have seen better display walking through the neighborhood .....so dissatisfied
Very disappointed! The Winter Light displays are extremely underwhelming and WAY over priced. Do yourself a favor and drive a bit further to Severs Holiday lights, more impressive and for a fraction of the cost!
The Christmas lights were beautiful!!!
honestly, its not worth the money ! staff was unfriendly and rude ! go to benntyville in duluth to see lights thats have the wow factor !
It took longer to get in and park than to walk through the display, There were so many ill behaved children running wild with no parents action. Totally ruins the atmosphere. My dogs behave better in public than 90% of the children at this event. Way over priced for what you got. Was in and out in 20 minutes - would never go back. Horrible experience.
This was an absolutely amazing experience. The lights were beautiful and we decided to take advantage of the shuttle service they offered free of charge. Its definitely worth the $15/adult and free for children 15 and under. This was my first experience at the arboretum and I am looking forward to spring and summer si I can explore the gardens in full bloom. 5 out of 5 ice castles.
I love visiting this place in all four seasons...in spring for tulips show, azaleas and crabapple blossoms...in summer for the coneflowers and Roses, their art displays with varying themes every year...in Autumn for delicious Arb grown apples and pies, awesome autumn decoration, vegetable garden and beautiful dahlias....in winter for light display... they impressed us everytime we visited .... it's the best place for whole family to visit and enjoy the serene nature... our kids enjoy the maze and the relaxing 3 mile drive an... read more
