This one thousand acre attraction located just west of Minneapolis is a gardener's paradise. It is also the perfect spot for anyone who simply wishes to visit a beautiful and peaceful place. The University of Minnesota, which owns the arboretum, conducts research here and offers a wide variety of educational programs. Several miles of walking paths weave through the gardens, with a lane along side for those who wish to drive.

Beautiful and impressive. Excellent food and facilities. A great variety of gardens to see and explore. Also some very nice trails for those wishing for a longer walk.
Everything was beautiful. We walked first, then did the drive after. Had some brunch, and visited the gift shop. Everyone working there was helpful and happy. We will be back!
I took a 4 year old to the arboretum. We spent over six hours there exploring and had an amazing time! The learning center has a lot of interactive exhibits for children. Adjacent to the learning center is the green play area outside. There is a large sandy section with water for the children to play in. I would recommend a change of clothes for the child so they can get really sandy and wet if they want. Thanks to my bestie Becki Hill, her membership. It's always so serene to walk, and look at the beautiful landscape, flowers.
This is a totally amazing place! I never knew there were so many different varieties and colors of roses and dahlias especially. Everything about the Arboretum is special - we definitely will return again!
First time there and I loved it. I hope to go back soon and get a season pass next year!
