I came across this gem when I visited ocean beach the other day and walking down the strip of ocean beach. Let me tell you about this hidden gem. The tacos are soooooo delicious! I had the seafood ones and it is really really good! It does take time for the tacos to be made and the soda refills is you have to ask them but honestly this place is so good! I gave The ambiance 5/5! I love the vibe of this place it’s small but cozy. I love the outdoor seating ! Perfect to eat during sunset ! Highly recommended
We came to Mike’s Tacos 2 years ago and absolutely fell in love with this place, so of course we had to come back! The tacos are AMAZING. I love the shrimp, steak, and the Tijuana tacos. But honestly, the best part is the fresh corn tortillas—they make such a difference! The sauces are definitely spicy 🔥 but that’s okay because everything is so good. Still one of our favorite taco spots!
The tacos were ok, it's a really small space not much room to order or sit when you get your food. I think my biggest grip is they didn't disclose that they just use one flat grill. I have a shell fish allergy and though I ordered chicken, it was cooked on the same flat grill as the shrimp giving me a small allergic reaction. That's just something to be aware of it you have a good allergy.
The best taco we tried was the northern Tijuana taco. Chips and guac not so good. Service was lackluster. The staff lack knowledge regarding ingredients used in their food which is always unacceptable. When I asked if their fries are coated in wheat flour, the girl at the front said they discard the boxes the fries come in which lists the ingredients on it, so they are unable to check.
