If you are looking for an insurance company that will help you with claims if something happens, stay away from State Farm. We had a sudden and accidental hot water pex pipe to burst inside our walk-in closet wall. State Farm would not pay for the repair to stop the leak. Also, State Farm would not pay for rerouting of the plumbing lines to keep a leak from happening again. I have no traffic violations or any accidents and yet my bill went from from 76 dollars to 113 dollars a month with no explanation as to why I am paying more.
The WORST company ever! If I could give less than 1 star I would. Horrible customer service, management team who doesn’t call you back and refused to speak to customers. They left me paying for my own rental due to their lack of urgency, it took them a month to send someone to even look at my car. I filed a complaint and then they denied my claim 1 hour after filing a complaint. Too bad 1 star is the lowest. My wife and I had a car accident on vacation. The first call to SF we were told our car would be "towed back to my home area to be fixed, I even got a call from the local repair shop the next day. No call back from the towing company. Called SF again and was told that the car would not be towed to *******, but 30-50 miles to repair shop and towing company would call. No call back. We rented a car to get home as our vacay was over. Deceiving practices! I contracted State Farm for auto and rental insurance 28 days before my old insurance would be terminated. I gave them all the information they requested for a quote, including information about a ticket we had. They gave me a quote for 6 months and I paid for it 20 days before the policy would go into effect. Three days before the policy started, I received three letters (one for each vehicle) with an 'adjustment, making the quote they initially gave me more expensive. I have called and spoken with multiple people in the same agents office and get a different answer to the same question each time I call. I decided to reach out to the customer service number and the guy that answered the phone was incredibly rude, and when I said please do not transfer me, he hung up on me
STATE FARM IS A DOWN RIGHT HORRIBLE COMPANY. I HAVE BEEN WITH STAE FARM FOR OVER 20 PLUS YEARS. MY FAMILY WAS IMPACTED IN THE JULY STORM WHERE WE DID NOT HAVE POWER FOR OVER 3 WEEKS. My family and I have been with State Farm for many years. It took 3.5 months to receive my car back which they like to blame body shops for which was not the case with mine. I had someone give me the breakdown over the phone and realized all my delays were bc of State Farm Claims which in turn made me run out of rental coverage during these delays. We're still waiting from the storm in March that tore our roof off. We've filed the claim. Contractors have said it's about 25,000 through 30,000 and State Farm wants to pay out $1000. We've been with this company for over 20 years with our home and multiple rentals and never filed a claim. Worst company ever. They love collecting your money but not paying out.
