Great Service Great Pork Chop I arrived early for reservation. With me was a 14 year old, so we could not wait in the bar. The staff found us a place where we could be comfortable. The staff in all areas that I could see was top notch. Food was excellent. Pork Chop was huge and perfectly presented. The only negative was the tables are a little to close together.
Great steaks and atmosphere I took my girlfriend (now wife) here and it was very classy. We enjoyed prime rib and steak. The meat came just as we ordered it and the side dishes were delicious.
Rehersal Dinner PLUS – Yes the food is good in the resturant..HOWEVER..I had my sons wedding rehersal dinner UPSTAIRS and to say the service was EXCELLENT woud be putting it mildly. Anne was nothing short of awesome in helping me, and a year later THAT evening is still Big Talk for the people that attended, both Chicagoans and out of towners. I have been here for dinner often and enjoy the bar upstairs....Enjoy the atmosphere, and the food......good eating !!

Excellent food...and Da coach! – Eating here was one of the real perks of my Chicago vacation. Chicken wings where okay...too much breading though. The bread they brought was served with Brown Sugar butter, which I like very much. I then went to use the bathroom, on the way up there, I met Ditka himself, it was a great suprise! He shook m e hand, and signed a picture for me (Unfountunitly, I had to pay $15 to get the picture from the gift sop). Nice restrooms here as well. Steaks, chops and seafood draw an upscale crowd to former Bears coach's Gold Coast joint. – In Short Chicago's fondness for the coach who delivered the Bears' only Super Bowl title extends to his namesake restaurant. Rich woods, leatherette booths and reverentially displayed sports memorabilia create a manly sporting-club setting. The pigskin menu features chops, steaks, salads, seafood and oyster shots with Tabasco vinaigrette. "Da Pork Chop" is a serving of that other white meat.
Inattentive service – Our service wasn't the best from our waitress. I felt like she wrote us off when she saw we were a young couple that didn't order expensive drinks. My husband ended up ordering the most expensive thing on the menu though.
Excellent! – Mike Ditka's is one of the best restaurants around. My wife and I have eaten here consistently and have never had a bad meal. Last week, we had a special dinner with about 30 family and friends, and they did a superb job. The meal choices were excellent. Everything was prepared just right, and the service was outstanding. To me, the sports/memorabilia/Ditka connection is just a bonus. This is just an all-around great place to eat!
All about Mike – Memorabilia in the joint was enormous. The food looked real good, it was too bad I was only there for lunch. The ambiance was real nice. Service was prompt as well.
