Genuinely the worst interaction I’ve had within the span of maybe a minute. I went in to ask questions about becoming a midwife and the nurses were hiding seemed extremely bothered by me being there. Instead of saying “come back another time” or simply “I’m not available to help out now” would’ve sufficed. I can’t imagine being a possible patient coming in to inquire and receive gross and unmotivated behavior.

The Midtown Birth Center fills a much needed service for Sacramento. The atmosphere is welcoming and we felt cared for by the midwives we worked with. My wife and I appreciated the approach of treating birth as a normal physiologic process rather than a pathology. We unfortunately didn’t get to deliver here due to a concern for IUGR. They were pragmatic about risk management and will transfer patients to a higher level of care if necessary. Never thought midwives would be more intrusive and less focused on patient care and outcome. These midwives are anything but helpful. Disregarded specialist recommendations and tried to classify my wife as diabetic when she had an allergy to the glucose test. Beware-if you don’t leave their practice in time, you will lose the ability to get focused professional care
