About this business

Midori, Aria, and I have adhered to a natural, vegetarian-inspired diet for many years. We do eat fish, but it ends there. The original idea for our "tea shop-turned-restaurant" was to create an extension of our own home and lifestyle. In other words, we are serving you what we would serve ourselves. Although prohibited by availability and price in some cases, we serve as many organic fruits and vegetables as are reasonably available. Also, when we use certain "prepared" foods we try to obtain them with little or no additive... read more

It is with regret that I downgrade this once favorite spot – This used to be a great place. Since they no longer have a sushi chef and apparently hire unqualified staff, it has declined. In an almost empty room we waited 45 minutes for a lunch order. The tempura is good, the sushi is OK, but it isn't the wow spot it used to be. Now you feel a little ripped off instead of feeling that you had your money's worth. Sorry, midori.

LOVELY! – Minimalist decor with delicious dishes. Professional, hospitable, and quick service. Nostalgic memories of Japan returned to me while dining here. A wonderful addition to the Minneapolis Japanese culinary scene.

Used to love this place – I loved coming here until their sushi chef left. Now the sushi has taken a dive. I will not return. Too bad really, I used to eat there 2x per month at least.

Bad Experience – Went once and won't return. Service was very poor. 40 minutes to take our dinner order? The sushi was also poor being tough and smelly. Should have got up and left.

Wonderful! – Midori's is by far the best value and taste in sushi in the Twin Cities! Excellent sushi and a low key vibe make this place a standout!!!!! Highly recommend to all!!!!

Valuable Secret! – I enjoyed my first dining experience here! Parking is on the street but I had no problem finding a spot. The interior seemed kind of small but it was perfectly sufficient when we showed up for lunch on a Weds. afternoon. The decorations were quaint and authentic, the environment was pristine in its cleanliness. We seated ourselves, our waitress was attentive and cheerful. I had the sushi lunch: the nigiri was generously cut! All the ingredients were tasty and fresh - excellent wasabi! I was surprised at ho... read more

Amazing – The food was great and the was service nice. We were able to have a very leisurely dinner without ever once feeling as though they were pushing us out the door. Lovely atmosphere. Will go back again and again.
