Just received a reply after almost 4 weeks from Joanne blaming me for the issue. At least Melissa, receptionist acknowledged they made a mistake in handling this. However, Joanne, put it on me. Would bet money that I will have to take Midlands to court to ever see a dime from this place. I wonder how many others have been taken advantage of but don't have the means to go after them. I do and will as I see no money coming back to me after 22 days, as of today.
Filed a complaint with BBB and wrote all five Commissioners of Real-estate for the state of Nebraska.
End of the third week, now into the fourth week with this piss poor company. I was charged again for MUD for $71.10. I forwarded the bill as I have with five other bills and yet to hear from David, who is supposedly in charge of this company. I have left several messages and have yet to receive a call back. Be leery of using this real estate company for anything.
At the end of the second week of dealing with Midlands realty. Their has been zero response to phone calls and emails. To clarify, the basis of the contract required me to leave all utilities on and they would take over the utilities. I ultimately had to cut off all utilities as I was continued to be charged a full two months after moving out, Be leery of using this company as they do not take care of their customers.
Another say of issues with Midlands. Having contacted to turn all utilities off, I found out they did not attempt to turn utilities into their name intil January 2nd, After speaking to all three utilities, they had the option to fully accepting any future bills. Instead, they allowed yet another bill of $172.57 to process into my account. I have now paid $656.49 out of pocket after moving out on November 8th. negative. While they were very responsive to maintenance requests, they failed in the end. Part of my lease agreement advised not to turn off any utilities as they would be taken over upon vacating the property. I am now in my second month of paying utilities on a residence that I have not lived in since Nov 8th, 2024. I have contacted Midlands via both phone and email and have yet to resolve this issue. For seven years we rented a house through Midlands Real Estate in Bellevue, Nebraska. Midlands has always been very responsive to maintenance requests or any other questions concerning the property. Our dealings with Dave, JoAnne and Briana have been nothing but positive and we highly recommend Midlands for rentina or purchasing a home. I started out with this company 28 years ago when it was owned by Jolene Bethel I was saddened and concerned when Jolene passed but was assured that her daughter in law would take good care of me. As a single mother barely making a living I knew that i could always count on Midlands. K.C. and Charlotte have always been there whenever I need them.
