Had an egd this morning and all the nurses and the anesthesiologist was very nice and thorough. And the nurse, doctor and crna was very kind in the procedure room also.
I had an appointment in December 2024, and unfortunately, the doctor did not categorize my procedure as preventative care, even though it was my first one. The hospital stated that the referral indicated the procedure was due to bleeding, which is why it wasn’t covered as preventative care. Luckily, nothing was found, but I’m now facing a $1,400 bill, which would have been $2,600 without insurance. If you live on the fringe of society.....don't drive, housing insecure, homeless, out of work.....no transportation. Expect zero accommodations......that office is run by lawyers and risk management.
This entire office should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I have been trying to make an appointment for almost two weeks with a rushed referral. No one ever contacted me but after calling three days in a row someone finally told me they will not see me. It’s a shame what health care looks like in this country. You all need to do better.
