REALLY, REALLY good authentic food!! – I almost hesitate to post this review as the place may become too popular. But it is soooo good, it would be a shame not to. I have been driving past this restaurant since moving here a few years ago and it is just not much to look at so I never took a chance on it. But like most good things, the looks are deceiving. Hands down the best Mexican food in Portland – This is easily the most authentic (and cheap!) Mexican restaurant in Portland. The dishes are mouth-watering and lovingly prepared; breakfast is phenomenal, chiles rellenos melt in your mouth, plain cheese quesadillas are so good I wondered if they lace them with heroine... The atmosphere, while not fancy, has been consistently friendly. And most dishes are between $4-7 dollars, full steak and seafood dinners can cost up to $10. Good food, Better Prices – Real nice people, feel at home eating there, watch as the cook prepares your food as you enjoy the aromas coming from the kitchen, if you like authentic mexican food, you must try this place, keep more money in your pocket as you will pay around $7.00 per person.
Much better, nearby – I thought I was entering a good, cheap hole-in-the-wall taqueria (that's what it looks like), but prices were around $9 for not particularly good food, and the place had the ambience of a slob college buddy's kitchen. There are much better taquerias all along Lombard, where atmosphere doesn't matter because the food's both cheap and good.
