I waited in the Munson ER waiting room for seven hours. Then was taken back to a chair in a hallway and spoke with the very kind NP....however, how on earth could THAT be HIPPA compliant? No walls, no curtains nothing separating these chairs in hallway that are all occupied....from hearing all your medical problems and what the doctor has to say? Stephanie and Leda are both kind, helpful and professional. They make a point to make you feel comfortable and welcome, accommodating short notice appointments. It is always a joy to see them.

I wouldn't even give the doctor on staff the one star for care or treatment if I didn't have to in order to warn others to stay away. I went in last night 05/06/26 for severe rib and chest pains, as well as trouble breathing and nausea after a seizure and a fall. I was questioned by Dr. Hart about even having Epilepsy because I couldn't provide him with a specific name for the type at the moment. I could barely remember my own name at this point. Last fall I came down with a nasty virus. Long story short I went to the ER at Munson Healthcare in Manistee and was tested for flu and Covid and eventually sent home with the diagnosis of viral infection. I paid my deductible before leaving and went home. Fast forward to recently and I receive a bill in the mail for an additional $457 dollars because the hospital coded it as a level 2 treatment (life threatening) due to the virus testing. Munson may or may not provide quality care, but they sure don't care about an individual's time when it comes to billing. I have attempted to reach them on the phone, portal and by mail. Very slow to respond, unable to reach by phone, even mail takes weeks to get the payments credited. I would hope for more consideration from an institute like this.

The first visit from the RN and PT was solid—they provided good care and seemed engaged. But after that, each of them came out twice more and did absolutely nothing. They were in and out in under ten minutes, offering zero meaningful support. I decided to let them go. I’m not paying for a few minutes of empty presence with no care delivered.

I called my provider back as requested to give him an update on my condition and symptoms. The receptionist was nice compared to the woman who called me back, Marissa NP. She was rude, short-tempered, and dismissive, telling me that if I wanted my doctor to know anything or to receive a message, I had to fill her in first, and then she would decide whether to pass it along. My mother Marjorie Russell-Gaffner had surgery this morning. She had a broken back. Her nurse Kelly was amazing. He was so kind, informative and compassionate. There is not area he could have improved on. Thank you for hiring such an amazing soul. Sheryl

Could not be more unhappy with the serice we have received for our loved one. Decisions they make without consulting the family and staff was very unwelcoming. It has been hard to get direct answers for questions asked. I would definetly chose a different hospital next time for my loved one needs.
