She is professional & listens & answered all my questions. The practice used to be understaffed but that has improved immensely. Can get appts quickly & the nurse Amanda that calls back is very helpful. I recommend dr Rooney. She is not the kind Of dr that calls you honey or sweetie so she is not a touchy-feely person, but I found her k owledgeable & professional. I recommend her!

Dr. Rooney was as cold as a person can be, with 0 bedside manner. Very insensitive to a womans concerns and needs. I will not be going back to her. When my PCP asked who I go to for GYN and I said Dr. Rooney, my Doctor did not seem too happy to hear that name.

I stuck with Dr. Rooney for a long time, even knowing that a friend of mine disliked her, and even knowing about her poor ratings on the web. My experience had always been positive, and I had even ignored her occasional lack of professionalism, chalking it up to innocent "quirkiness." Silly me. I just had a horrendous experience with her, in which she spoke publicly about sensitive, personal medical information, and in which she offered medical advice that was outdated and borne entirely of ignorance. Dr Rooney is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. The office staff is just as bad. The waits are always over an hour and the lack of care is unbelieveable. I had an unexpected C section after Dr Rooney tried to induce me for over 24 hours. She was so cold / rude / nasty. She never explained anything she was doing and when we asked for an explanation she barely looked into our eyes but gave very brief uninformed answers. this was the worst dr. experience i ever had. dr. rooney waited 2 weeks to have her nurse call me and tell me my blood work was abnormal. when i asked to speak with dr. rooney, i was told "you need to make an appointment, she's too busy to talk on the phone." after explaining it was difficult to get to the office, the nurse assured me she would have dr. rooney call. 2 months later, no phone call. i attempted numerous times to contact her with no response. she is the most uncaring, unprofessional "doctor" out there. i wouldn'... read more

I find Dr. Rooney to be a good GYN that can answer my questions to my satisfaction. The staff is terribly unfriendly and unresponsive and tend to lose files between their NJ offices. I once had to leave 3 messages and then actually wrote the doctor a letter asking her if she could please call me. The Center needs to hire more professional and pleasant people to run the offices. You get what you pay for. Several of those women are also very defensive if you ask why no one has called back.

Dr. Rooney is very moody - sometimes she was very cheerful and helpful and at others she totally made sure that you knew that you were bothering her. She often would not call you back and if she did, would often have little to no idea what she was calling about. I had a UTI that I went to go see DR. Rooney for. She told me that although I had all the symptoms of a UTI nothing show in my urine. She told me I must have flushed it out by drinking water and she sent me home with no medication. This was a Monday and by Friday I was in the hospital with a kidney infection. I had contacted her staff several times during that week keeping them up to date with my symptoms and providing them with urine samples. I switched practices due to the terrible response level of office staff. Call backs are sporadic and sometimes take days - I called with a medical problem and ultimately made an appointment and was seen at another clinic before this office even called back! As another paitent stated, if you are not pregnant, this office treats you with little importance.
