Great bedside manner great surgeon what more is there to say
Dr. Mont replaced my right hip in 2008. He did an excellent job, using a ceramic femoral head and a heavily cross-linked polyethylene acetabular cup insert, before this setup was the standard of care. It has now been 17 years, and the hip shows minor wear. I have returned to cycling and skiing in the big mountains of Utah, Montana, Colorado, and Patagonia. I never think about the hip he replaced. He did a great job and works on the cutting edge of technology. I would use him again.
Dr. Mont was one of the biggest mistakes I have made. I asked if he did an anterior approach hip replacement and he assured me that he did. However, I was shocked when my incision indicated a lateral approach that he had never mentioned to me. As a matter of fact, he didn’t come to see me in pre op. I didn’t see him until two days later when he came to discharge me. I was given very few post op instructions and no home health care at all. Dr. Mont is a competent, no nonsense and careful surgeon who is well regarded and in high demand. I would have rated him higher were it not for the apparent incompetence and or sensitivity of his office or operation. As I type this I am waiting over two hours for a post op appointment and there has been no explanation for the delay except that he has been busy. Dr Mont is good, but I would recommend finding someone else as good if that is possible.
