In February 2025, Dr. Michael Hinckley, dermatologist and Mohs surgeon, performed Mohs surgery on basal cell carcinoma on my nose and performed a local flap reconstruction. Following the surgery, I experienced swelling, bruising, right eye was swollen shut, and the right nostril collapsed (nasal valve collapse).At the 1 week followup appointment, Dr. Hinckley said pressure from the flap collapsed the nasal valve. I was really impressed with the recommendation I had received from my Dermatologist to meet with Dr Hinckley for my mohs surgery. I was very nervous for the surgery but he helped to calm my concerns.
