I see negative comments on this page and I feel I really must disagree with them. MM is the best in my opinion. The Merchant Special is awesome, the enchilada is great and the tamale is the best restaurant tamale I have had. The Royale plate is incredibly large, its like the Merchant Special but has an added tostada that is so overloaded its a meal within itself (I substitute chicken for the beef). I used to work downtown and ate here at least once a week. I have since relocated to AZ and every time I visit my family in SA t... read more
My husband and I were refered to Mexican Manhattan by a gentlemen we met in a parking garage elevator. He said the food is delicious, with reasonable prices. We went straight there and we're delighted to find an authentic Mexican restaurant. We dined on the beautiful, clean, patio overlooking the River Walk. We were promptly served by an AWESOME waitor, who took great care in serving us and making sure we were happy with everything he brought us. He chatted with us asking why were in San Antonio, and told us about the city a... read more
I am so sorry I brought out of towers here. Service was good. Drinks: beer was not cold enough also had strawberry daiquiri and margarita had no complaints. I felt bad that I recommended this place and our friends paid so much and did not like the food. This place is definitely off my list of restaurants
I was hoping this place was as good as people say it is, but it's not. The wait is way too long. The restaurant is extremely cramped. We ordered a flauta plate and the flautas were not crispy at all. The rice had no flavor. Even the tortilla chips were stale. Worst mexican food I've ever tasted. Is this REALLY what people are hyped about? THIS RESTAURANT? My mother makes better mexican food than this! The people who say this restaurant is good obviously don't know anything about real mexican food.
The worst experience never. The flata plate was horrid. The corn tortilla should be crispy and it was rubbery and the chicken was so dry it's taste like jerky. The Margarita were 10 dollars served on a glass that was only 14 oz. The owner was not helpful didn't even offer to bring out another plate.
Definately worth a try – Its our after work happy hour hangout..the whole staff is always friendly and accomidating. We love coming here for drinks in the bar or on the patio, its the place to be especially in the summer. Pros: Great Drinks, Friendly Staff, Good Food Cons: Inside could use an update
GREAT Traditional Mexican Food!!!! – We went to this restaurant with a group of 10 at approximately 5:00 PM on a Friday evening. From the moment we walked in it was a very pleasant experience! The hostess quickly arranged tables to accommodate us as we were a walk-in party. Once seated the server was very pleasant and prompt with our drink orders. During the ordering phase she was very helpful with information on the entrees and their contents. It seemed like no time after our orders were takes that all the meals were coming... read more

"A Night To Remember!" – 35th Year Wedding Anniversary celebration - on the river! Superbly arranged and catered out, by the entire staff of the Mexican Manhattan. Inclement weather hampering events, including a featured barge ride, the staff responded with multiple contingencies keeping our celebration extremely pleasant for our guests and us - yet still managed to pull off all our plans and expectations. The 5th half star not on their overall rating should be awarded based on their overall quality of service from this even... read more
