Buy Yourself some heavy equipment. Mine the Ore, Smelt it , Process it and roll the Steel to Standard. Then Cut it To Length at Your Location. You Will Have it 10- Times Faster Than Buying From Metals Depot.
Metals Depot was seriously the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. The quality is like from some scrap pile, the shipping times take longer than getting it from mainland China, and the customer service is nothing more than some pms bimbos trying as hard as they can to get under your skin. And they actually get a kick out of getting you to lose your cool. These people are scam artists and total.scum bags. Lesson learned. Slow !.. Over a week to process order and get ready to ship. ( 4 stainless trim pieces). Very high Shipping cost! ($145.00). I will not order form them again !
They have a tolerance of 1/4 inch on there products so if you need more than one piece they will not match at all. A 1/4 inch either way equals a half inch difference between pieces. So if you want a really janky looking project order from them or order a very long piece and cut it yourself because I assume you can use a tape measure even tho these guys can't.
I ordered 18 drainage grates 12" by 36" for a long driveway drain I built. The grates are strong enough but the 36" bars that hold the shorter 12" bars apart were randomly placed so that spacing of six of the grates did not match the other 12. None of them were welded so that there were equal spaces between bars. It looks like they were welded up by a drunken sailor. My run is 54 feet total and it looks like it was built by someone incapable of using a tape measure as the grate spacing jumps randomly. Metals Depot is giving ... read more
First they short my order by one piece, then to make good on my purchase, they send me a bent in two places rusty piece of tubing.
