I haven’t been to Mesquite Chop house in 10 years due to the poor reviews I’ve heard from friends and family. We went for brunch this morning for my grandmas 75th birthday. While the mimosas were great my shrimp and grits were so salty I couldn’t eat them. My wife got biscuits and gravy. The gravy was pretty flavorful but the biscuits were hard as a rock. The food is excellent and the dessert selection is by far the best around! I highly recommend the banana cake and strawberry cake! Also wonderful chocolate martinis. The staff is very attentive, especially Louis who we always request to be our waiter. He is the BEST! He always takes such good care of us and is so friendly and always knowledgeable about the specials and the menu. He is a true asset to your great service.
Usually a great experience.... not today. Opening time is miss leading . Bar opens at 4... kitchen opens at 5. Web site nor the individual called at the restaurant made this clear. Steak wasn’t cooked as requested. Very slow service and restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Very expensive for the quality and service. Probably will not return.

Great service, excellent staff, exceptional food.
Very nice atmosphere. Loved the jazz background music. The fillet was cooked to perfection, fork tender. The sides were huge portions, big enough to share. Service was excellent. We will definitely return.
WE were there for our 39th wedding anniversary.You would have thought they knew that.The young lady that waited on us also worked the bar.She done an excellent job.The food was awesome.
