wonderful food – The food here is as good as everyone says it is! The pasta was fresh and very well seasoned -- my only complaint would be the steamed mussells that was the "weekly special" was quite small and the size and meat in the mussells was rather pathetic. But other than that, it was lovely and the atmosphere was romantic!
Excellent dining experience – I chose this restaurant for an Anniversary and it could not have been more perfect! The ambience, service, and food quality were more than impressive. Prices were very reasonable, as well. The location and parking were just right and Mescolanza is a place I would highly recommend for a pleasant night in the city. I will definitely be going back!
hollis – This restaurant was a great experience. First off I loved the fact the it's in the outer Richmond so it's not packed with awful yuppies (aka Marina crowd). It had a very neighborhoody vibe and the food was excellent. Everything is made to order and since it's not a very big place your food comes out relatively fast and hot. The prices were also great, I highly reccomned this place. The earlier you go the much easier it is to find parking and a table with no waiting.
Would go again – The restaurant was a lot smaller than my date and I expected. However, for the price that I paid, it was quite worth it. In addition, parking was hard to find, so it's better to go either at early or late hours.
What a find – Good food! Good place to eat Italian less parking hectic. Appetizer is limited, but yummy. Pizza is thin (corn-meal) crusted. Pasta dishes are excellent. The cost for main entree is about $10-15.
The whole package – Not only does this charming off the beaten track restaurant have delicious quality Italian food, but the staff is as friendly and helpful as could be. The service is remarkable and all dishes come fresh (and HOT) and with a smile. This place is such a super find, unlike all the touristy places around the city, definitely worth the trip out to the Richmond. You will not be disappointed! Make sure to tip the waiters, they deserve it!!!
consistent quality – Getting out to the avenues is always a mental hurdle for the fog-haters among us, though the trip is well rewarded when Mescolanza is waiting at the end of the journey. From the Salads & Pizzas starters to the melt-in-your mouth Gnocci, the food is superlative. We have consistently chosen this a restaurant as the best Northern Italian food in the city, eating there probably every other month for two years.
Great neighborhood restaurant – The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. It's a great place.
Amazing food – This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to...My boyfriend and I dined there on Valentine's Day and both agreed that the gnocchi was the best we'd ever had. The carpaccio and wines we tried were also outstanding. The service is not the best, and, if it's crowded you may have to wait in the cramped entryway, BUT once you get to the food, it is worth the wait. Delicious!
