High turnover rate with pediatric therapists. My son had 10 different speech therapists, 5 different physical therapists, 5 different occupational therapist in less than 2 years time. My son's inconsistent therapy lead to different technique approaches, slower progression, and diagnostic challenges. Some therapists have a style where they force children to do a task they don't want to do, forgetting that play is therapy. Follow the child and learn how they like to play, then "weave" in their therapy needs. Forcing children will always end up with them crying the entire session. Sometimes therapists need to reconsider their approach as opposed to blaming the parent. As of now, I do not recommend their services. Ask your child's pediatrician about going somewhere else if Merit Health Outpatient Rehab is their referral.
