My family has been going here for 50+ years. The food and service are outstanding. You can't beat the poor boy's. But the best is that you can drive 40 minutes from home. And you still end up running into other family and friends. It is a lot more than some business or restaurant. It's family.
I've been going to Merichka's since 1964 for that "Po Boy" sandwich. Went with my brother & one of his buddy's, I knew then I was hooked for life. Give me Swiss Cheese & heavy on the "Gaaaaarlic Butter thank you. I've got my wife & kids hooked on them, that each time I go now, I have to stop & get 4 "Po Boys" to-go!!! I don't dare tell anyone else I'm going, or I'd have people lined up for a block asking me to bring them a "Care Package". My family has been coming to this establishment since the 1960s. Best Poor Boy sandwiches and double baked potatoes. Not to mention the yummy house salad dressing!!! I am adding to my post and changing my review because when you order out you cannot order ANYTHING off the kids menu! I talked with manager and he was just as rude as the receptionist taking the order. You would think a customer order $80 worth of food that they would accept their request! Unbelievably disappointed!!!
A fave of our family forever. Love the poorboy, best onion rings. Fun place to go.
