It purely amazes me that my brother, a type one diabetic with a sever wound in his perineum, doesn’t have a nurse with the proper education on giving him insulin. He is having to explain insulin to the nurse, how to count carbs, and still has to ask for more insulin for a high blood sugar. Then he has to wait, for multiple hours. His high blood sugars will not allow him to properly take care of his wound, and this is overlooked over and over again. He has a nurse who sits and waits for a doctor that won’t respond.
