Got a 6k bill, tried to apply for financial help through their MyChart app but MyChart says it doesn’t know me. Now I’ve been on the phone for over 10 mins waiting to talk to someone. I called Mercy 1st and was told the have a 3rd party that does the billing. Could not connect me but gave me a number. Yeah just a total scam. The majority of everything was great. They’re a small biz so it was a toss if the right people were in for me to be able to stay there. Fortunately, ultrasound hadn’t gone home and we could proceed. I ended up having two surgeries the next day. I was inpatient three nights coming in from the ED. Some people were more attentive than others but most were very nice despite forgetting things I asked for. I chalk it up to everyone is overworked and they probably are too.
I had a hospital stay 3/10-3/12-2026 for a kidney infection. The emergency room wait was long but the care I've received after finally being seen was acceptable. My problem with Mercy as they offered me a 20% discount to pay off my bill at the end which I did and then turned me into collections for the 20%. They also did this to my wife for her Hospital stay in January. I unfortunately had to be admitted for 7 days. I came home for about a week, only to end up back in the hospital overnight for another day. Thankfully, I was in very good hands. My nurses Amanda, Dan, Kash, Elle, Kerry, Emma, Kathy and MJ “Hummingbird” — you are absolute rockstars in healthcare!
