If canceling appointments for patients that your doctors have never talked to, treated, or seen yet “don’t feel the need to see” is common, you deserve whatever medical malpractice rates your carrier sees fit. And I would assume that with this level of care, it would/should be a number that would make neurosurgeons or even billionaires, cry. I guess you guys have taken the non-maleficence part of the Hippocratic oath to mean “do nothing” rather than “do no harm”. DO BETTER.
I have been seeing Dr. Li for a couple of years now. I previously saw Dr. Oghlakian for over a decade and he was absolutely amazing, but sadly he left Mercy. After he left I was given Dr. Li as my neurologist. I started having seizures again after Dr. Oghlakian left. I went to see her and she added another anti-seizure medication to my regimen but it was one that I have tried before and told her that I've tried it and had side effects.
