Worst Bar Ever – The Mercury Bar is the worst bar I have ever been to in my life. The atmosphere is terrible. You have to send up a flare if you actually want a bartender to serve you watered down mixed drink, dirty tap draft beer, or a boone's farm quality glass of wine. The patronage also leaves alot to be desired. The crowd is a mix of Paris Hilton wannabes except their Louis Vuitton handbags are fake, and an overly obnoxious breed of just graduated college frat boy/men. I have never tried their food due to the fact that ... read more

Eat, drink and meet at this branch of the popular Hell's Kitchen hangout. – The Scene This spot offers a cooler, more grown-up alternative to the frat-boy scene of the nearby Joshua Tree (under the same ownership). The relaxed front bar leads into a large second barroom kitted out with giant-screen wall TVs and black-and-white photos of Irish pubs. Lively clusters of casual but stylish guys and girls check out the game of the moment (and each other) as a DJ spins an energetic soundtrack, Wednesday through Saturday. The Draw ... read more

Best Bar In NYC – This is the best bar in NYC. You'll always have a good time whether it's for happy hours, watching a game, hanging out with friends, meeting people, a place to start before the clubs or a night at merc. The crowd is mixed, the girls are hot. The place gets packed on weekends and for those who say its too crowded, you dont want to walk into a place that has 20 people, you want a lot of people to be there. The bartenders are the best in the city, the waitress' are beautiful, and management is great. They have... read more

so--so – Well where to start. The crowd is definatley not my cup if tea. Too young, too rowdy. The music is off the hook. The d.j. spins great beats that make you want to dance all night long. The problem is that no one dances. And if they did there would not be any room. The only good ..hhmmm great thing about this place are the bartenders, management is doing a great job hiring the hotties. They sure know how to keep the girls coming back!

Another Planet – Mercury isn't that great. Talk about cookie cutter model. Where am I again? Fridays? Espn Zone? The atmosphere is ok but the food leaves something to be desired. Check around and you might find something a little better. This place could have potential though.

Are you kidding me? – This is a frat bar, pure and simple, and if you are in the mood to get gawked at, but have no substantial conversation, with twenty-somethings, then this is your place. If, however, if you wish to meet someone with more intellect than a character on "South Park," then I would suggest heading elsewhere. The music is so loud that it is impossible to even hear the person next to you speaking, and the drinks are way overpriced for the quality you are served.

For some reason, Mercury bar seems to be the Irish haven of Murray Hill. Everytime I've been, Irish guys abound. People are friendly enough but bartenders can get a little snippy. When the jukebox reigns control, prepare for lots of Bon Jovi

Good Pick-Up...for 18 yr olds – bad layout upfront, but what are you going to do/ At first glance, crowd looked attractive enough (concur on the B&T presence), but on second glance, all of the guys looked to be about 18! The hottest guy there was the bartender....but he wasn't so very friendly. Don't have to fight too hard to get drinks, but drinks mediocre when you get them. I guess that's the best you get for $6/drink in NY? P.S. NO ONE danced.
