I truly wonder if St. Albert is a 'women-only' town. I specifically requested a male therapist and was met with nothing but empty promises. I called five separate times; each time, I was told they would call me back with an update, and they never did. It shouldn't take five months and a call to the provincial intake hotline to get basic help. If you're a man in St. Albert looking for support, don't bother—save yourself the time and just go to Edmonton. St. Albert seems entirely focused on female clients.
I learnt recently that I could/should have reported this place. Was getting therapy 1-2 years ago and I asked once again to go on the autism or adhd wait list and was told "You can't because it's a 5 year list so you have to pay the 1500$ for the test with a company. Do you have that kind of money?" Turns out therapists aren't allowed to be classist and are supposed to put you on the waitlist regardless so that's nice. If you get Dr. Chima you should run. If they still have Doug you should probably also run. He basically told me that I need to pull myself up by my bootstraps out of depression, then just refused to see me again.
