Gorgeous revival of a magnificent old hotel. Can’t beat the location.
Amazing and beautiful hotel, the bar was fascistic! Only issue I had was the showers, the water would go from warm to scalding hot, and to freezing randomly but it is an old hotel. Best part had to be the amazing breakfast! It's worth it, just go!
Love it! Very classy and the food is outstanding in the Colonial room. You feel as though you are going back In time with the furniture and museum like artifacts which highlight the era of the Roosevelt Rough Riders.
Great location. Across from the Alamo. Right at the Riverwalk. Staff at check in were great. The room was very clean and comfy. Definitely will visit The Menger again!
Visited just yesterday....sadly, we were not able to stay overnight this time (just a day trip with friends from Australia), but we did make it a point to show them the Menger Hotel and to dine in the Colonial Dining Room for lunch. The staff in the Colonial were, as usual,......FANTASTIC! The food, ......FANTASTIC, and the Mango Ice Cream....(you guessed it) ......FANTASTIC!! Our friends were very impressed.
We enjoyed walking through and reading about all the history. Would like to go back and actually stay at the hotel.
The Menger was just amazing. It lived up to its reputation. Truly felt like I stepped back in time. The staff was always professional and accommodating. The food and complete overall service from valet to checkout was simply the best one could ask for. And yes there were a few “what was that” moments. Can’t wait to go back!
