Specialties: Melrose Caverns Lodge and Special Event Venue Established in 1929. Melrose Caverns lies on the Harrison homestead and was discovered by David Harrison in 1818. In April 1862, Union forces commanded by Gen. Banks marched south to reinforce units occupying the area. Banks's army set up camp on the Harrison's farm. Troops found the cave and explored it with torches. Great tour of cavern. Irvin was a very good guide. This is definitely a place to visit. If I could offer any constructive criticism, it would be to increase the volume and shorten the introductory video.
Great history lessons awesome tour guide
Absolutely love stepping back through history. you can see these young soldiers writing their names on the wall so they could be remembered through history. The people here working were wonderful and they answered all my questions.
