Dr. Doyle at MedVet Mandeville, LA operated on my boy and when he started having complications the day after I picked him up MedVet could not contact D. Doyle. They said he is unreachable after leaving the office, and they offered no help. The surgery cost $4,200 and I guess that means you are on your own afterwards. If it wasn't for my local vet I would not have had anyone to turn to. I would not recommend MedVet or Dr. Doyle to my worst enemy.

They are NOT a 24/7 facility. They may be open but if you take your pet in on a Sunday it will be forced to wait until Monday morning for proper treatment. Our dog is paralyzed because they waited to perform an emergency surgery. Our dog had IVDD. Every website or research we have looked at states the first 24 hours is critical for a good outcome. Our regular vet also said it is critical. Yet they told us an overwhelming body of evidence shows otherwise. When asked to provide this "evidence" they could not and refused ... read more

MedVet Emergency made a nightmare even worse. Our 13 year old Aussie bloated around midnight. Recognizing the signs and knowing they only have a few hours before certain death, we rushed him to the Medvet Emergency in Copley, 20 minutes from our home.. Called in route and they were waiting for our arrival. Xray confirmed a flipped stomach. And here is were it became even more of a nightmare. Do you know that this EMERGENCY clinic is NOT prepared for emergencies? It takes 1-2 hours to call in a surgeon - they do not st... read more

We brought our chocolate lab to Medvet on Saturday, July 18 2020. I called from home before we left and pre registered him and was told to call as soon as we arrived. I explained that he was having very labored breathing and was drooling excessively. It was also very clear he was in pain and nauseated. Upon arrival, he truly appeared to be dying in front of me. They wheeled him in on a stretcher since he had collapsed by then and was unable to get up on his own. We knew he was in liver failure from testing from our own v... read more

On the positive side, our pet got the care he needed! Our unexpected visit could have been so much better. After waiting 3 hours, info. was shared with me by the Vet on the phone which was helpful. But then found out at checkout via phone, the cost was $500+.. I should have asked sooner... The worst was the technician handed me a bag with meds and walked away with “the instructions are in the bag”... More communication & personal touch would have been appreciated.

The past few weeks we have noticed our 9 month old kitten has been acting very different, trembling&losing his balance very easily. I took him in to a nearby vet who was not very much help at all&did not seem to take it seriously nor care. Therefore, i took him in to a different vet&they rushed us to the Medvet as it was an emergency. We were stressed about the money situation as we all know making any kind of vet trip is always pricey. As we showed up, they took our kitten immediately to the backroom and kept us updated. Ou... read more

Had a terrible experience with this emergency vet. After we found our dog started shaking and did not stop a few hours, we took her to this place. Doctor diagnosed it as potential disc disease, that was good part in terms of identifying the problem, but during her diagnose, she pushed back bone of my dog really hard and my dog cried so hard. I went home and put her on the ground first time after the diagnose, she could not hold her back legs any more. She was walking OK right before diagnose even she was shaking. We monitore... read more

I’ve recently had lost Rocky my sweet dog that I had over for 10 years. I’m so heartbroken that she left us unexpectedly due to cancer. sweet girl only had one week to live so we had to put her to sleep due to the suffering for oxygen and the pain. I miss her everyday, minute, and hourly. I want to thank you guys for being there and helping us and give rocky the last good air of oxygen she needed.

Refused to treat my cat because we couldn't afford payment until morning when we could get ahold of rescues. She died in my arms. These people only care about lining their pockets not saving animals. 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
