I was able to get an appointment quickly after his office received my referral. Dr. Martinez had removed tumors on 2 separate occasions , last in 2022, with good visual and physical results. He remembered me and had researched my history prior to my appointment. Dr. Martinez made a thoughtful physical evaluation including an ultrasound for good measure. Their customer service is a joke. When calling oftentimes they respond and put themselves on mute and hang up on you. Very poor patient treatment - it feels like they are seeing people coming to this clinic as enemies.
Dr. Sorriano is caring and really listened. He is a fantastic doctor!
I am writing to document my extremely disappointing experience with Optum, which exemplifies a pattern of poor patient care I've encountered across multiple departments. There has been an ongoing issue with Optum repeatedly rescheduling specialist appointments months out, then canceling due to sudden provider unavailability with no reasonable alternatives. I had the good fortune at Optum to get Dr. Soriano as my cancer surgeon. He is not only the best surgeon I've ever had (and I've had a few!), but he's also the best doctor. He never rushes you and explains things in terms you can understand, and then makes sure you're involved in the decision making and leave the appointment with a much lower level of stress. if Optum is able to recruit and keep surgeons of this caliber, they are who I want as my medical provider.
