I first injured by back in college in 1960 when I was assaulted by 30 - 40 high school youths on the college campus in Houston, Texas. I was injured again in 1992 while on duty as a Berkeley police officer. I fell and landed on the wench of a sail boat in the small of my back while investigating a case.
