The therapist i met wasn’t really helpful, and there wasn’t much time. Also it costs quite a lot of money.
Don't book with K unless you want to do all of the talking and receive zero helpful feedback. "I can understand why that's not fair." I don't know what else to say except that's some college education.
Meadowbrook counseling has really been a blessing. Like having a child is a blessing but without all the awful things that come with screaming babies. I went in for depression and a crippling addiction to frosted mini-wheats, after a few minutes of talking Tyrese asked me “do you sit down in the shower…”. He explained to me the benefits of standing and how it causes us to spend less time running the hot water heater which makes the appliance last longer. At our first session, Maggie web said she’s “not for everyone” and likes to challenge her patients. I welcomed that—I’ve had therapists challenge me before, and I value growth. But Maggie doesn’t actually challenge me. Instead, she talks over me, gets defensive when I ask questions, and fails to provide real help. That “not for everyone” line now feels unhelpful and dismissive. She once said, “You can say anything if you say it right,” but she doesn’t practice this.
