My husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer. We are both native Houstonians so we immediately called M D Anderson. We really liked Dr. Shah who did his surgery. We were then referred to one of their oncologists. Neither of us cared for him or his recommended treatment. He is now a patient at Texas Oncology and is doing well. He has already lived past the one year he was given by M D Anderson.
The docs and nurses are great. The ancillary staff sucks. SEVEN times wealled for an appointment. SEVEN!!! We called patient advocacy and everyone we could think of. The person who finally got us some assistance laughed and said we were just experiencing the usual MD Anderson incompetency. The idiot at the desk looked at the guy ahead of us, asked his name and STILL put on a different patient's ID bracelet...a woman, no less. If my husband were not mandated by his health plan to use the center, I'd find another place.
