I've been twice in the last two weeks and both times the service was deplorable. I have no intentions of going back.
The food was amazing. Our waitress, Kristie was not. She was not attentive at all, and extremely rude. We had came in New Years Day and it took her a few minutes to get to us, which is understandable due to the high volume of people in there. After she got our drink & food order she didn't take care of us. She made us feel so uncomfortable the whole time we couldn't eat fast enough to just get away from her negative energy. AMAZING! We take our special needs kids from school there once or twice per year. They are courteous, efficient and the food is DELICIOUS! we were there yesterday and someone (a regular customer) anonymously paid our entire bill. There IS good in this world. Be the change that you want to see.
The salt herring is like no other, simply delicious and fried just thevway I like it
This is my favorite place to eat. I have eaten here since the seventies. Whether it is salt herring and pancakes and coffee or liver and onions with mashed potatoes and collard greens or a nice crisp garden salad , your palate will definitely be pleased. Also the staff is friendly and they care about the customers. Nice place to meet nice people as well. I give them 5 stars !
Food was very good. However the owner or general mgr said they did not have Narcan on hand for either their employees or customers. Very sad, because it is not likely that a person will come out and share this. For some, they are dependent on it, using just to be able to work or to eat dinner with their families. And what a shame, finding that person in the restroom or break room, & if Narcan was available, a life could be saved. But the owner did not seem to care. The food was great and the staff was terrific. I had the big breakfast with fatback. I'd recommend it to anyone!
