I/family have visited off/on for family meals or event gatherings since my high school/college years (ie. a long time). We've noticed recently the food is often overcooked, dry, and not fresh. For the increased price of a meal (~$15/person for entrée/side/dessert/coffee), it just does not appeal to us as it once did as a preferred quiet spot for the occasional family meal out. RecommendedTurkey manhattans were excellent...macaroni and cheese completely dry...side of corn and green bean and carrots were mediocre at best and the pumpkin pie was dry and the cream pie didn’t taste good and the crust was under baked...overall not great but would be back for the manhattans

Had swiss steak, mashed potatoes, ear of corn, pecan pie and fish eye pudding. All was very good. Also had large portions
I love this place. It’s country style food reminds you of home. I recommend this place to anyone who’s is looking for a nice quiet place to eat good home cooked food. It’s a bit different when it comes to serving food but worth it.
I love MCL! Everything there reminds me of my Mom’s cooking. They have the best tea in town, both sweet and unsweetened, in my opinion. The coconut cream pie is great.
I had the baked chicken with stuffing,mashed potatoes with gravy & broccoli-Enjoyed every bite. Their desserts are just like mom used to make!
