Save yourself from problems and go with a different builder. Moved into this brand new home at October 2023 in Wilmington NC. I’ve had nothing but problems floor creaking upstairs. AC unit does not put out air in guest rooms; the contractor has come out many times and now charging me to try and get ventilation in the rooms. Master shower insert is shallow and dips in the shower floor. Master bath sink faucet is pulling up and can’t be stabilized. Paint pulls drywall right off the wall. Corner seams falling down. McKee went above and beyond three years after our purchase when some minor defects were discovered in the home selling process to make it right. Thank you.
Update: McKee contacted me and is doing there best to make these issues right! I would not recommend doing business with McKee homes. They do not do well at the basics of home building and only interface through email and hide behind their processes verses making gross quality and construction issues right. We have owned our house for less than 3 years and the inspector for the new buyers found roof trusses that are not attached to the load bearing top plate, buckling Hardee Board siding because of improper installation, and... read more
It was a terrible experience and I am willing to share everything that happened to me with potential buyers. They have nice homes at the Village of Rockfish on Tom Starling Road save yourself the time and just buy your home there and not mckee!
