I recently moved north and was looking for a new vet and I’m glad I gave this office a chance. So far I’ve brought one cat and one dog and soon to bring my next cat. Dr. Green is very kind and knowledgeable. They had to draw my dog’s blood and she is a big cry baby and you can just hear the compassion coming from the techs and you know they enjoy doing what they do. McHenry Animal Hospital saw and treated a dog that belonged to my rescue group. He was in the care of a trainer who brought him in because the dog couldn't walk. The vet hospital refused to talk to me about the dog or release the records despite many requests. The dog belongs to our group, not the trainer, and based on Illinois law we should have been contacted and no information should have been released to the trainer. Our pets (cats and dogs) have been patients of Dr. Braer for the past 5-1/2 years (at both Gilmer Road Animal Hospital and McHenry Pet Hospital). Dr. Braer is very knowledgeable and only recommends tests and procedures that are necessary. Our fur babies have always received great and compassionate care at these offices.
