I highly recommend Dr. Mcelreath. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis two years ago. When a questionable lesion appeared on my liver in an MRI scan, he didn't have his office call. He called me and very patiently answered all my questions and discussed my options. He cares about his patients. He is the kind of doctor you want when you are diagnosed with a serious illness. He has shown me to be very knowledgeable in his field of medicine.

I called Dr. McElreath's office at 8:15 am on 8/27/18 and wanted to make an appt for Colonscopy as well as I believed I was having some gallbladder issues. The receptionist said I needed to speak with Dr. McElreath's nurse so I left a vmail for Karen. She called back at 5:30 and could not say if Dr. McElreath treated gallstones & would cb next day. I never got a return phone call and today is 9/5/18 and still no phone call. POOR BUSINESS TO IGNORE PATIENTS. I had previously seen Dr. 4 yrs ago.

After several years of struggling with extreme GERD, I became a patient of Dr. McElreath and have been very pleased with his attention to detail, his carefulness about medications, including those I take for other conditions and his willingness to listen. I am now on an even keel and can enjoy life again, thanks to his care.

Dr. McElreath has been my doctor for 7 years. He is very Doctor/Patient Friendly. He listens when you speak to him, includes you in making decisions regarding your treatment plan, treats me like a person, patient and never like his "next appointment." He respects my opinions. He is easy to talk to, down to earth, shows extensive knowledge of his medical expertise. He is kind, caring and compassionate. You are truly missing out on the BEST medical care if you are not his patient.

I have been a patient since 2014. He & his staff are professional, caring & responsive to my questions or concerns. He always explains my treatment plan so I know what to expect during & after tests. Dr. McElreath is an excellent physician & actually listens to me as a patient. I recommend him to friends & family.

have only seen him a couple of times. seems to be on top of his game. very aggressive which is what you need with the cancer problems we are all having. I would recommend for sure. his right hand nurse is also on top of her game. I have not scheduled an urgent appt so far..

He is not at all responsive - I had 2 major tests done at his request - in both instances - after 2 weeks waiting each time, I had to call him for the results - he seems much more interested in $ than his patients. I'd recommend anyone else.

My discussion with Dr. McElreath centered around my chronic constipation caused by IBS. I told him numerous times that I was gluten intolerant. The first thing he did was prescribe taking Colace as a stool softener. The brand of Colace that he recommended is not gluten-free, and I had a terrible reaction. He recommended that I have a test for the antibodies that are present in Celiac disease. This test is only for people on a gluten-containing diet. I am gluten free. I would not recommend him.

Takes the time to explain medical condition and options. Seems to really care about his patients health. Total opposite of GI I saw in El Dorado.
