Excellent food! – The food at McCrady's is sublime. Artfully presented, well executed, imaginative modern menu in a delightful setting. Our rather large group were seated upstairs in a room where George Washington once visited and was the perfect location for our private dinner. There were a few minor service errors (wrong dishes for the right people and some cocktails taking forever to appear from the bar downstairs) but the amazing food took outshone any slight negatives. I look forward to eating there with just my Husband... read more
Don't waste your time or money – Went there in mid-February while visiting Charleston on the recommendation of the concierge at the hotel where we were staying. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The service was EXTREMLY slow, the food was decent (a bit fufu), but not worth the HIGH PRICE. We were sitting in a side room, which also contained a private room. While there seemed to be enough servers, the one waiting on us seemed to always be hurried. There are far too many excellent restaurants in Charleston to waste time ... read more
worth the wait – After walking the historical alleys, it was great to stumble into McGrady's, with excellent service, plenty of smiles and warm feelings.
McCrady's still great – Chef Brock has done great things since taking over the kitchen. He uses local farms for produce and cures his own meats making excellent plates with various sausages and hams. Had the Monkfish which was excellent.
Favorite Restaurant – As a local, this has always been one of my favorite restuarants downtown. The food is always amazing and you can't ask for a better environment for a quiet evening.
The worst place to have private parties. – I had my wedding at McCady's. The food and the servers were good, but the event coordinator Christy Loftin wasn't helping me at all. She never replies your calls or emails, she makes you think that you are not an important customer for the restaurant. I had to work guiding people at the restaurant on my wedding day since she wasn't preparing well. Later, instead of apologizing for not having enough time to communicate with me, she blamed me for not communicating with her. That was t... read more
McCrady's is dreadful – Although at one time McCrady's was a fine restaurant, this is no longer the case. They did NOT win the James Beard award and righfully so. I dined there two days ago with my family and embarked on a long journey of disapointment all night. The portions are tiny with hefty prices. Food was cold on scorching hot plates, bland, flavorless, you get the idea. Staff is relativley freindly and the decor is lovely, but mark my words your will go home hungry after spending about $250 per person. The money is b... read more
Worst Dining in My Life?Family Embarrassed – I will NEVER spend another dime at McCrady?s. I live in Charleston, have been multiple times and have spent literally thousands of dollars at this restaurant over the last year bringing in friends, family, and important clients. Previously the food was innovative, the atmosphere was exquisite, and the service was perfect. Unfortunately, I brought my brother and wife visiting from San Diego in to dine and there had been a substantial change in this establishment?s business practice... read more
