The history of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants began when Bill McCormick purchased Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, and brought the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. When asked the secret of how he revitalized a restaurant on the brink of closing, McCormick says, "I like nothing better than being a good host." Part of the managerial talent McCormick tapped was Doug Schmick, a management trainee. The two formed a partnership in 1974, creating Traditional Concepts, a precurso... read more

Hot Spot – Service is great at this waterfront jewell. The bar also has great service and lots of good people watching. You have to try the Raspberry martini and a drink called the Portland sunset. What a fun place and great food.
Almost Perfect – Food is great, Servers / Waiters are excellent but the prices are a bit high, no to that it matter to us. Reserervations are useless, you still have to wait. They are merely a suggestion as to when you should arrive. The "behind the scenes staff" seems to be disorganized. I will be coming back often but it is hard to know about what you might run into
THIS IS THE PLACE!!! – What a fun place to come and relax after work. Both the bar and the restaurant are great. The service is top notch. The drinks in the bar are all made with fresh juice and there are a ton of beers on tap. Make sure to check out the drink list! My favorite dish on the menu has got to be the Crab and Shrimp stuffed salmon, WOW! The crowd in the bar is lively and fun. Only downfall that I can see is that everyone is finding out about this place and it gets busy.
Greatest Bar Serivce in PDX! – This review is based entirely on the bar, which never fails to be fun and friendly. The bar staff all rocks~ each worker (bartenders & backers) is great and worth knowing! One highlight at the bar is Jerrad, the head bartender, whose infuses the place with energy and humor...taking what could be a stuffy environment and turning it into a fast-moving, entertaining, bottle spinning, glass catching, song naming experience! Since day one they have all made an effort to remember me and my friends na... read more

GREAT HAPPY HOUR – This place has a spectacular happy hour. Great selection of bargain-basement appetizer specials (try the mussels!). My kind of crowd (young, hip, professionals). And kind, friendly, and attentive service. Being on the waterfront was also a huge plus. Definately no complaints here.
Parmesan crusted fish – Their signature parmesan crusted fish entree is quite delicious, but a bit pricey. The beer cheese soup is wonderful, and the fruit dessert with crème anglaise is excellent. The Happy hour menu could use a facelift. If you don't order anything more than a drink, some servers seem to take offense. Want to watch the players in the meat market pen, just visit on a Friday or Saturday night.
Waterfront debacle! – Ok - good atmosphere - but that's where the pleasantness ends. The food and service were horrendous for the money. The Talapia was less than extraordinary - the average home chef could have done better. The nearly un-cooked string beans didn't have their pointy tips cut off. The Uncle Ben's-like mashed potatoes were served luke warm and dry. The steamed Mussels were tasty, but were served with as much finesse as a beach cookout. They were served alone in a soup bowl without a side or even melted butter. ... read more
