I had a deeply disappointing and concerning experience at Mayo Clinic Hospital’s emergency room. I arrived with multiple injuries, including a buckling knee, a head injury, and pain in my hand, shoulder, and ribs, after a serious incident. I clearly communicated my symptoms, including limping from knee instability and concern about my head, but the doctor barely addressed these issues. On 5 East I had the pleasure of interacting with two of the Marias in housekeeping. Both of them had very pleasant dispositions and made some of my more difficult days easier. It's easy to feel less than human in the hospital, but they worked hard at their tasks and still made me feel like they were listening to me. They truly made a big difference.
