About this business

A comfortable, homey restaurant in the center of Provincetown, the Mayflower is the sort of place you tumble into, exhausted and hungry from walking and shopping on Commercial Street, to find an enjoyable, reasonably-priced meal. With both Portuguese and Italian specialties, everything from subs and pizza to lobster is served. They're happy to prepare orders to go if you'd rather head to the beach or your room to eat. This is a relaxed restaurant, comfortable for families.

During a recent bus tour to Cape Cod we were given some free time to roam around P-Town. We stopped here for a bite to eat. We started with the clam chowder (the creamiest) then shared a lobster roll and fried oysters. The chunks of lobster, OMG. The oysters were cooked perfectly, not tough or chewy. The waiter was friendly.

on 5/23/12 before the season rush my husband and I ate there for supper. I got 1 1/2 lb lobster dinner included salad and potato. My husband got baked stuffed jumbo shrimp with same sides. Our server Andrew was excellent and after dinner he gave me oyster crackers to crush & rub on my hands to get rid of the lobster smell on my hands. It sounded crazy but it worked! My hands felt smooth clean and no longer smelled like lobster. Washing my hands before crackers didn't get rid of the smell. I learner a great trick so thanks An... read more

A local favorite You'll see a lot of locals, fishermen, etc. eat here because the prices are some of the lowest in Ptown and the food is more traditional. Best to go at off-peak hours. Kids will definitely find stuff on the menu that they'll like.

Overall nice place for family food on the main street in town. Parking is tough, but there is a pay lot nearby. Nice menu and normal prices for a resort town.

Don't miss it. I do not leave P-Town without having a bowl of Portuguese Soup at the Mayflower. This is a family restaurant that serves very good food at reasonable prices. I have never had a bad meal here in 30 years. Come early on week-ends to get a table because everyone else knows this is a "must stop".

A great deal Every summer we return. The interior is nostalgic, as in, hasn't changed in years, and really it shouldn't. The menu has a variety of seafood, pasta, sandwiches, and salad, and they also serve cocktails and dessert. There is a kid menu, too. The prices are very reasonable, the service is acceptable, and the location is great- you can watch the crowds move past the windows!
