Always a great meal and a good time. We come back to Maxie's every time we're in Ithaca.
Great cocktails (try the specials), fresh juicy oysters and clams, unique dinners (Pork belly with sweet potato cream, kale salad with red onion, smoked pecans and blue cheese crumbles), decadent desserts (try the Marquise cake!) and knowledgeable, attentive, properly paced service. Relaxing cool vibe in the bar with great bar tending and friendly service. One of our favorites and worth the 40 minute drive.
Thanks to an email from Bertschollmusic we made it to Maxie's last night. Called 30 minutes out for a hopeful table but ended up at the bar. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves watching the 2 bartenders, listening to Bert and eating. I'm not much for Cajun and despise bleu cheese, but had my mind set on the crabcakes! Tolerated the Cajun mayo just fine. The RWB coleslaw was interestingly wonderful. 2 nights a week music, Wednesday night kid specials, fund raising chicken dinners make Maxie's a definite revisit!
