WORST GYM TO JOIN AND CANCEL!!!! I sent the paperwork in for cancelation and now they say, a year later they have no records of my paperwork or my calls! I called days after the paperwork was sent and was told it was processing. I moved away a year ago!!!!! This is the first time I hear I am not canceled!!!!! DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! Read all reviews. It's terrible when you need to cancel.
RIP OFF! This place will rip you off on deceitful cancellation rules that are not explained when one turns in their notice. I gave them my PCS orders beginning of May ago and was still charged $80 maintenance fee because they delayed the processing the paperwork. I came to find out this morning they only cancelled one account so the charged me again this morning !!! (45 DAYS AFTER SUBMITTING MY CANCELLATION NOTICE). I knew I'd only use this gym for a few months before I moved and they were advertising to "cancel anytime." What they don't tell you is you can't. They give you a cancellation sheet that you can only "mail" to corporate HQ which happens to be in Columbus As well. Obviously this is delay the Process. The form says that your cancellation request has to be Approved and you will pay a 50.00 fee. I love Max Fitness. The staff is very nice and they have a lot to offer. Never had a problem with the daycare. Going to miss it when we move.
Awesome gym! My son loves going to play in the kids area. That was an important part of me picking this gym. I absolutely love the classes!
Everytime I am relocated to Columbus, I join this gym. I have lived in Baltimore, New Orleans, and Atlanta, and Max Fitness can easily compete with other gyms I have joined in big cities.
I have been away from GA for a year and three months. I used to lift there when it was Golds Gym. Once I left GA I gave them my orders and "broke" contract. Looks like they didn't break re contract. About four months after leaving, this gym still was charging me. When I called to try and talk to the owners, it was like I did something wrong. No professionalism.
I joined Max Fitness in May despite what reviews I read online. Everything was explained to me in detail about the membership when I signed up. All of the staff I have met so far have all been very nice and helpful. I really enjoy the classes, and all my friends that I have brought in to join like it too. The friend that joined with me in May had to move because of work and had no problem canceling her membership. I think the place is great and more people should try it out.
