They told me about 1000 in tax for a $2500 car and most of the thousand dollars is document taxes little high if you asked me

The car in question was listed at $2595, it was explained that there is a $300 taxable Doc fee, $278 in State, County & City Taxes and $301 for new plates and title transfer. It was also explained these fees are regulated by the state. These fees would be identical at any other Illinois licensed dealership.
